Kyle Gilbert is a composer, producer, and performer of vocal, instrumental, and electronic music based in Spokane, WA. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition at Whitworth University, where he focuses on composition, production, and vocal performance, studying with Brent Edstrom, Brian Bogue, and Dr. Scott Miller.
Active across a broad musical spectrum, Gilbert has composed works for solo piano, flute, clarinet, violin duet, brass quartet, and various nontraditional chamber ensembles. His electronic music explores genres from ambient minimalism to house and melodic dubstep.
Grounded in personal experience, Kyle’s music explores themes of time, space, connection, and melancholy, expressed through sweeping legato melodies, a nuanced dynamic range, and a strong sense of textural continuity.
In 2025, he began planning, recording, and producing his debut album, loved and lost, which blends his skills as a vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist. The project takes on a singer-songwriter aesthetic infused with subtle electronic textures, and is slated for release in Summer 2026.
